Hi @Rashid_Ali ,

Please refer to this link:GitHub - mandevuMan/REDCap_PowerBI_Connector

This is a custom data connector which you can use in Power BI to connect to your REDCap installation. The connector is able to get data from all types of REDCap projects including longitudinal and projects with repeat instruments.
You must pass the following parameters when connecting Power BI to REDCap

  • REDCap URL
  • Project API Token
  • Raw or Label data format
  • Raw or Label headers
  • Export Checkbox Labels
  • Export Survey Fields
  • Export Data Access Groups

Optional parameters you may pass are

  • Fields
  • Forms
  • Events

I'm struglling with connecting Power BI with Redcap database. I followed the steps (downloading and saving the GitHub code in the right folder). My problem is, the Redcap customer connetor is not popping up in Power Bi GetData. How can I solve this problem?

So you are going to 'Get Data' ... then 'More...' ... then in the search box on top left put in 'redcap' ...and that should bring up the redcap connector.   If it is not there... something is wrong along the way.

Hi,

I have multiple REDcap surveys that I wish to display in a PowerBi dashboard. Custom connectors have been created but there are issues with refreshing of the data and currently we are having to download each survey and run the dashboard from the desktop location. Can someone assist in a relatively step by step of video manner to work through the problem being experienced? Thank you

To get the published report to connect to the REDCap data source via API and refresh in the service, you have to edit the data source credentials:

Authentication method = Anoymous
Privacy = Organizational

Skip test connection = TRUE

This last item was the key in my situation. It doesn't work if you test the data connection because there's no way to authenticate; the test always fails. The token embedded in the Power Query is all the authentication needed. That's why you skip test connection.

Hello,

How to create a REDCap connection using a custom connector on Power BI Service?

I managed to load the connector to my Power BI Desktop, but not able to see the connector in my list.

I do have the feature checke to allow the gateway to use my custom connector.
