Hourly refresh automation not possible
Hello.
My IT admin told me I now have access to powerBI professional.
I tried to change the scheduled refresh to an hourly rate.
My data source is a excel file which is connected via on premise data gateway.
Sadly I still only have the option for a daily or weekly refresh rate.
Is this an error on my site or is it simply not posssible to update on an hourly rate?

Hi phyten,
In your scenario, you can upload your excel file to OneDrive or SharePoint Online only, and then use this excel file as datasoure, then the data will refresh hourly and it will refersh automatically. For the details, please refer to the link below.

Does the Excel file go through PBI Desktop (.pbix file) first then is published to PBI Service? And ayou referring to the OneDrive hourly refresh?
