Hiding Excel sheet after Dashboard is created

Hi Team,

I have source excel file and created a Bi report successfully. Only one sheet in the excel will be used by users to input data whenever required. I dont want them to view other sheets. If i hide those Excel sheets will it impact Power BI report?.

Regards,

Preetham.

HI @Preetham_R , yes, Power BI will still load it even when it is hidden in Excel.

Your solution is so great @davidding

Hi, @Preetham_R

As user davidding said, if you hide the current table in Excel, Power BI will still load the table, and subsequent operations on the hidden table will be able to synchronize those changes after you refresh them in Power BI.
Here are some of my tests:

Power BI:

Update Excel sheet data and hide Excel sheet:

Refresh in Power BI to get the latest data for a hidden Excel sheet:

As you can see, when we hide the Excel sheet, it doesn't affect the Power BI loading of these data and the display of the report.

Yes, you can hide it in Excel. The hidden sheet is still accessable via Power BI. In Query Editor under the Navigation step use Source{[Item="hidden_sheet_name", Kind="Sheet"]}[Data]

HI @Preetham_R , yes, Power BI will still load it even when it is hidden in Excel.
