Hidden Power BI Risks? Curious what others are seeing

Power BI is growing fast, and with that growth comes complexity. One of the most common questions we heard at conferences this year is “How do I apply DevOps practices to Power BI without making it harder for business users?”

It got us thinking: what are the less obvious risks that can break things in a Power BI environment?

  • Settings no one knew changed
  • Overwritten or lost reports
  • Broken dashboards due to unknown deployment

We’re hosting a free session on August 27 to go deeper into this. If anyone’s interested, I’m happy to drop the link.

In the meantime, what’s the most frustrating Power BI risk you’ve run into?

  • One challenge and risk we see is around tenant settings.  Microsoft updates these settings often, and unless you're tracking them manually, changes can fly under the radar. It becomes especially risky when there's no audit trail or versioning to see who changed what, when.
