Help with refreshing dataset while the source file is being used by another user

Hi all,

I have a dataset that is used and updated everyday by many people in my organization. On this dataset i have created and shared a report on our teams site for everyone to be able to see the most updated figures and visuals. However, whenever the dataset is open and used by another member the refresh get an error as seen bellow (portions have been removed due to sensitive information). Is there a way to overcome this? Thank you

Is the file in a shared drive or your local folders in your laptop?  Do not use 'E' drive etc. You need to use the UNC path of the folder ('E' will be something like   '\\server2\Corporate\').  Go to ''This PC' > on the 'E' drive right-click > go to DFS tab. There you will find the UNC path.

Change the Data Source path in Power BI desktop and re-publish to Power BI Service.  And, now you can set up the gateway.

Hope this helps !
