Help Needed for Server Connection via Windows Authentication on Virtual Machine Using Power BI Gatew
in the gateway service web page create the connection, and specify Windows authentication.
It is correct, my VM has direct and uncomplicated access to the SQL Server through the network, and my 'On-Premise Gateway' is configured there on the server as shown in the previous images.
my 'On-Premise Gateway' is configured there on the server as shown in the previous images.VBI (very bad idea) - do not place an On-Premise Gateway onto a VM that houses anything else (including a SQL Server). They will fight each other for compute and memory - and will lockup the VM. Put the Gateway Cluster members on their own dedicated VMs.
Anyway, in the gateway service web page create the connection, and specify Windows authentication.
I would like to inform you that I have successfully downloaded Power BI on the server, and the connection was established without any issues. I was able to correctly view the contents of my database as well as the tables I want to load.
However, my goal is to establish a gateway or connection that allows me to work from my local machine. This would facilitate a more personal and direct management of the data from there.
I would appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide to achieve this setup properly.
