Help - Getting a PowerBi Premium License without having Microsoft Org Account

Hi All,

My organization does not use Microsoft products. But we want to develop some dashboards in PowerBi to support client needs. We tried purchasing PowerBi premium license but its not letting us buy without having an Organization Microsoft account.

Is there any way we can buy Power Bi licenses without having an company Microsoft Account? Please help with this urgent request. Thanks in advance.

As far as I am aware there is no ways to do this without signing up for a Microsoft Account. The Microsoft account is free.

Hi GilbertQ , thank you for your reply. I did create a Microsoft account with my work account but when I tried buying a Power Bi license, It gives me the error that "PowerBi isnt available with my account". Any ideas on why would that be? I tried reaching out to Microsoft support via the online form but haven't received any replies so far.

      Thanks!!

        Hi erpGuySid

You might need to chat to your Microsoft 365 admin because there is a potential case that they have blocked people from signing up for power bi.

    Hi erpGuySid,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.

A Power BI license for a work account can only be purchased by an IT admin or someone with the necessary administrative permissions in the organization’s Microsoft 365 tenant. A Microsoft 365 tenant is mandatory to purchase and manage Power BI licenses because licenses are tied to the tenant and managed through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

        Hi Anonymous ,

I created a ticket with Microsoft Sales Team and they are helping me with this. I hope to have a definitive answer if it works by end of this week. I will post an udpate here as soon as I have a confirmation. Thanks!!
