Have issue with performance on cloud
Edit: The above mentioned issue is happening while we are connecting powerbi using ssas tabular cube. which is present in azure server. The data size is around 400k records.
Hi Yogesh,
Firstly, how do you connect to SSAS tabular model from Power BI Desktop? Via "Import" or "Connect Live" option?
Secondly, do you put Power BI Desktop on the same Azure VM that have SSAS installed? If that is the case, could you please install Power BI Desktop on another Azure VM and check if you get performance issue when filtering report.
Thirdly, based on my research, the performance issue could be caused by several reasons, for example, network latency and low throughput exist between your data center and the datacenter the your reports reside on, there are multiple visualizations in your reports, web service involves lots of javascript and so on. In your scenario, please reduce the amount data of your tabular model, minimize the visualizations and check if the performance improves.
For more details about the performance issue, you can slao review this similar thread.
