HTTP 401 Error when visiting Power BI 'Publish to Web' Embedded Report

Hi everyone,

We're experiencing an odd issue: Our Power BI embedded report works fine for everyone else except one user!

When trying to access the 'Publish to Web' embed link on Chrome on his PC, the user keeps getting an HTTP 401 Error.

The embed link looks like this:

https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoier64ruy......

We've tried everything we could think of to resolve this, including

  • deleting/re-uploading PBIX report and dataset,
  • resetting the Row-Level Security Roles,
  • deleting/re-adding the user again,
  • assigning user as 'Administrator' everywhere possible,
  • adjusting user/report/dataset permissions,
  • clearing cache/cookies on user's computer, and
  • trying a different browser including IE and Opera.

We are on the Power BI Free account and it always worked for everyone (including Sam) since we started using it back in October 2017.

Any idea what the issue could be?

P.S. He also gets the HTTP 401 Error when trying to sign in from the Power BI from the sign-in page (https://app.powerbi.com/?noSignUpCheck=1)

    HI ganesh575,

I think this issue is related to specific device or account, please ask him to test with another devices and account.

If he can access embedded contents thought other device, it means the issue is related to device or other softwares. You can contact to related staff to fix these.

If only his account faced the issue, please contact to your IT to check his tenant account settings or submit a support ticket to power bi team to get further support.
