HELP! Adding Postgre data source to gateway cluster
Hi!
I've been looking for several threads for similar issues about connecting the Postgre database under the data gateway, but none of them helps resolve my issues. Please help on sharing experiences/ solutions if you have related solutions!!!!
Issues that I encountered:
- Datagateway cluster shows connecting successfully
- But not able to add Postgre database source under the cluster
We have tried:
- Installed Npgsql 4.0.0 with GAC on the machine that set up the gateway
However, I am still receiving the below error message.
Highly appreciated if there are any thoughts/ advice. Thank you in advance!

Hi Anonymous
Could you not install an ODBC driver and connect to your PoostGreSQL database in this way?
Then for sure your gateway would be able to connect and you would be able to connect it?
Also if you could follow this documentation: Power Query PostgreSQL connector - Power Query | Microsoft Docs

GilbertQ ,
Thank you for your response.
I did also tried to connect via ODBC. I received the same summary error message with the detailed error showing "Unable to connect to the data source {0}."
Thank you!

Hi Anonymous
It would appear that there might something different that you need to configure to connect to Postgre, I would chat your DBA to see how they could assist to ensure that you can connect from the Gateway to the Postgre database.

Hi, Anonymous
You may need to ensure that your gateway has been updated to the latest version and the firewall will not block some communications to related IP addresses.
