Guest user Pro license not recognised
Hi,
My Pro license is not getting recognised when I switch tenants.
I have a Pro License in my own tenant, and according to what I read, I should be able to bring my own license to other tenants where I'm invited as guest user. This was the case until recently, but now it looks like a have a 'Free' license when I switch to another tenants. So, I can't see any content even though I'm suppose to.
What can be going wrong?
Thank you.
Hi AleSota
This often happens when they assign a power bi free license in the guest tenant. Ask them to remove your free license in the guest tenant and log in again, and it should use your pro license.

Thanks,

Hi AleSota
If you’re a guest user in other tenants but now see a Free license and can’t access content, it means those tenants aren’t assigning you a Power BI Pro license anymore. Power BI Pro or Premium access is required to view shared reports. Licenses don’t carry over between tenants, so you need the tenant admin to assign you a Pro license or give access via a Premium workspace. Changes in tenant policies or permissions are usually why this happens.

Hi Poojara_D12
As far as I am aware the licenses are valid across tenants. I have not seen anything in the documentation that says that this is no longer the case.
As I mentioned what I have seen happen in the past is that in the guest tenant, the guest user account has already been assigned a Power BI Free license. Which causes the issue described.
Once the guest account has the Power BI Free license removed, it will then start working.
