I wonder if anyone can provide some advice.
I am creating a number of reports for my organisation. These are being built in PBIX, stored on a shared fileserver, the source data currently is excel data stored in files on Sharepoint.
For Business Continuity and holiday cover etc I want to be able to set up one or two other users to be able to edit both the published report on the service, and if necessary the original PBI desktop in my absence. As these are new reports they do occasionally need debugging, and if I am on holiday etc I want someone else to be able to edit the desktop file and republish if necessary.
Is this at all possible? I am not sure how it can be done as at present I believe the access to the source data on sharepoint from the PBIX desktop file is enabled via my company login & password?
Hope this makes sense
Any tips or suggestions gratefully received.
You should probably create a workspace for your reports and publish them there. Then, you can give other people owner access to the workspace or edit/read rights. You could always publish the PBIX files to OneDrive and share them out as well.
