Grant access when there is RLS

Hello,

I have 2 reports and 2 datasets with RLS for each in my workspace. I've created an app. In order to give permission to people I need

1) add them to the workspace and to the dataset security role (rls) and then they have granted an access to an app + workspace

2) add them to the app only 

3) add them to the app only + dataset security (rls) in the workspace

I think 1) would work, but even if I restrict their view (like disable seeing one of two reports) they still could see them in workspace? 

I am not sure whether 2 and 3 will work. Will they? I bet 3rd might work, 2nd no way (not added to security)

Hi curiousqwerty. You must configure the dataset security (rls) at any scenario. If you want to add users at workspace they will see all of the reports (only viewer rol to keep rls working), if you don't want that you can create an app configuring an audience of people defining what they can see.

In other words you can use 1 or 3.
