Governance on Power BI Datasets
Hi,
Several people are authorized to access DWH data sources, but while some data sources are not individually harmful, once combined into a Power BI dataset it becomes personally identifiable. Because this data then all of the sudden becomes sensitive, what would be the way to solve this? In addition, we would like to trace Power BI datasets activity, is that possible for the following two activities:
- Which Power BI datasets have been shared and with whom?
- Which Power BI datasets have been used to make new reports with?
Kind regards,
Hi mmossel
This can all be traced using the Power BI Audit log which will show you who is acessing what.
You could use my blog post below to store the log files in Azure Blob Storage and then use them to create a PBI report: https://www.fourmoo.com/2020/02/12/how-you-can-store-all-your-power-bi-audit-logs-easily-and-indefinitely-in-azure/
