Governance in Power BI Service
Hello,
Is it possible to set up governance around Power BI service e.g. which data sources can be used by users, which type of authentication will be allowed? I could not find any option in admin portal>tenant settings. We also have requirement that users should not publish content in their default own workspace i.e. My Workspaces should not be used.

you have to be aware that Power BI is the platform that enables everyone in an organization to work with data.
Working with Power BI starts with Power BI Desktop, so maybe you have to tell your client that they have to restrict access to Power BI Desktop.
Next, consider licensing.
If a user has a Power BI free license assigned, this user is able to publish reports to "My workspace", doing this means artifacts will occupy space.
Tell your client they have to restrict provisioning the Free license.

Next to that, Power BI is about enabling the people and driving/fostering a data culture. If your client does not want this, use a different tool.
You have to make sure that all the requirements regarding data governance and compliance are met from within Power BI, of course in combination with an existing data governance program.

TomMartens : Is there any workaround you can suggest? Bascially our client is looking for this requirement to restrict the Power BI usage so that none of the users can create unnecessary dashboards/reports and occupy extra space. Otherwise they will not move forward with PBI.
