Give workspace access to only select users

I published a report to a dedicated WS. I then assigned 1 admin, 2 contributors, and 5 viewers to the workspace, as only these people should have access to the report. However all users are currently able to access the report from a link shared manually by a viewer. What am I doing wrong? Please guide me.

Hi @arnabmit ,

The viewer and contributer do not have share permission, but if you give them the share permission while sharing a link, then they will be able to.

  • First we need to check who all has got reshare permission, and remove it for contributor and viewer.

Go to manage permission of the report, and identify who has reshare permission

and then remove the permission, by unchecking the below as provided in snapshot

  • 1 admin and 1 contributor access to workspace is fine.
  • Instead of viewer access, you can just share report with user.
  • While sharing the link, uncheck Allow recipient to share the report.

  • Implement static/dynamic rls so that user will be able to see restricted data as per their access level
  • If you have premium capacity, better to publish app than providing access to individual items.

If this post helps, please accept this as a solution. Appreciate your kudos.

Thanks,

Pallavi
