Github Enterprise Cloud Integration - Cannot connect to repos created by Organization

I'm running into issues attempting to integrate Fabric workspaces to my company's cloud Github Enterprise account.  So far I've done the following.
Created a PAT using my organization as the Resource Owner.
Used the "Only select repositories" option and selected the Repo under the organization
Granted Read and Write permission for Contents in the Repository permissions section
Generated and copied the token
When I open the PAT, in the Repository Access section the Repo I expected to see is there.

Went to the Fabric workspace and opened up workspace settings
Created new GitHub connection, I am able to successful connect if I don't enter the Repository URL (just using the PAT)
But when I enter the Repository URL in the Connect Git repository and branch section I get "Can't fetch branches from this repository"

Any help or thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Hi @Zack-Lock ,

Thank you for your patience.

GitHub Enterprise Cloud is supported in Fabric, but there are specific limitations that may impact your connection. According to the documentation Overview of Fabric Git integration - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn, some GitHub Enterprise settings are not supported, including.

  1. IP Allowlist - If your organization enforces IP restrictions, Fabric might not be able to access the repository.
  2. Private Networking -  If your GitHub Enterprise is limited to private networking, Fabric may fail to establish a connection.
  3. Custom Domains - Fabric's integration may not recognize GitHub Enterprise instances using custom domains.
  4. Workspace Limitations -  Only workspace admins are permitted to manage the Git repository connection.

I hope this information is helpful.

Hi @Zack-Lock ,

Thank you for the clarification, @lbendlin . You are correct Microsoft Fabric currently supports Git integration with GitHub.com and Azure DevOps, but not GitHub Enterprise Cloud. As @lbendlin  mentioned, if this feature is important for your use case, we recommend submitting feedback or upvoting an existing idea in the Microsoft Fabric Ideas forum to help prioritize it for future updates.

Regards,

Yugandhar.

Thank you for the reponse - this piece of documentation is confusing then.  It seems it is saying that Github Enterprise Cloud is supported.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/cicd/git-integration/intro-to-git-integration?tabs=azure-de...

Cloud only. GitHub Enterprise On-prem ( what 95% of Enterprise customers use) is not supported.

I've got bad news for you.  Github Enterprise is not supported.  Only Github.com or Azure DevOps.
