Getting a 429 error when trying to trigger an alert email to a few users

I am trying to send an email alert to few users via PowerBI automate. The alert sends email to me, no issues there.

However, when I add additional email addresses, it is failing with error code 429. COuld someone please guide me as to what needs to be done? thanks and take care, Jassim

Hi @Jassim1991 ,

It does not directly refer to the recipients or alert emails, it means too many calls are going out from your flow to the Office365Users connector and you are hitting the limits on it. It's a rate limit exceeded error.

You can try to configure retry policy to resolve the errer, refer to this blog:

Hi, thanks for your input. Now, I am getting a different error as copy pasted below:

'The Mail connector is currently restricted for new tenants. Microsoft is working on enabling this connector. In the meantime, please consider using alternatives like Office 365 Outlook, Gmail, SendGrid connector instead.'

Sounds like you weren't the only one hammering their service so they put a stop to it.

May I know what that means pls? my understanding was it will use outlook to trigger the emails but what connector is PowerBI talking about here? thanks

Thanks for your response. May I know what fewer requests here mean?

1. Is it few recipients? (I only added 3 email addresses as recipient)

2. Is it few alert emails? (I only sent 2).

429 means you are sending too many requests.  Send fewer requests.
