Getting Started with PowerBI - data connection

Hi I am brand new to PBI and have watched many tutorials on how to get started but nothing seems specific to what I need.  I have created a SQL query using PLSQL that is connected to multiple tables within an Oracle DB.  Now I want to connect to PBI and have that sql run against the same Oracle DB.  I've been told to create a dataflow? or dataset? which I think is in PBI Service and then somehow refer to that in PBI Desktop to create my model.  Then publish to PBI Service to create the visualizations.  I am just not sure where to start PBI Service or Desktop and how to get my data in PBI to begin modeling.  I see alot of tutorials about after you have the data loaded to PBI but Im unfortunately stuck at the gate and not sure how to get in.. TIA!

1. Make sure you have a working connection to your Oracle database, ideally via TNSNAMES.ORA

2. use the Oracle connector. Under "Server" specify the TNS name of your connection.

Under SQL Statement (optional) enter your PL-SQL query.

Decide between Import Mode and Direct Query Mode.
