Getting 'Only 20 items can be opened at one time' error when I only have a couple of PBI tabs open

I don't know if our admin did anything but starting today, I've been getting the following error when trying to open anything:     Is this a known bug or does our admin have anything to ...

    Hi olimilo,

This limit refers to the number of items opened in the Fabric/Power BI header, not the number of browser tabs.

Fabric enforces a strict hard limit of 20 internal items open simultaneously in that top menu.

From the screenshots, I don't believe this is something your Power BI administrator would normally configure. The "20 open items" limit is a product limitation, but if you're seeing it with only two open items, it may be a UI/session bug.

    A few things I'd check:

    Close all opened Fabric items

In the Fabric portal, look at the header/tab strip and close any reports, semantic models, dataflows, notebooks, etc. that may still be open from previous sessions.

    Try an Incognito browser session

This helps determine whether the issue is related to cached session state in the browser.

Sign out and back into Power BI/Fabric

Sometimes the service retains stale UI state, and a fresh sign-in clears the list of opened items.

Let me know if this helps!
