Getting “DM_GWPipeline_Gateway_AdoNetProviderOpenConnectionTimeoutError” During Dataset Refresh
- 10 months ago
On all gateway VMs attempt to connect to the data source and confirm that you can successfully retrieve data. Most of the time there are firewall settings that prevent a connection.

Hi Mahendra_k,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Fabric Community Forum. Also, thanks to lbendlin , for those inputs on this thread.
Please check once if you are able to connect to the data source directly from all gateway machines. Also make sure there are no firewall or network rules blocking the gateway from reaching the data source. It’s a good idea to re-enter the credentials for your data source in Power BI Service and confirm they are valid.Sometimes the gateway service might be stopped or running on an older version, so please verify that it’s up to date and running fine. If your query is taking longer time to load data, try to optimize it or increase the timeout settings.
If the refresh still fails after these checks, please share the detailed error from the refresh history and the gateway log details, so we can help you further.
please go through with the below document hope it may resolve your Issue:
