Get Data from PowerBI datasets - instability
I am really struggling with Pivots in excel linked to power BI datasets just recently (no issues previously). Three days on the trot now excel has crashed (stuck "connecting to datasource") when trying to simply amend a filter on the pivot. This is happening on different spreadhseets linked to different datasets. I am due to roll out all these conencted sheets through the business soon but I cannot do so when it is so unstable.
The crash is absolute and all unsaved work on any workbooks is lost.
Is anyone else finding these problems?

The "connecting to datasource" issue could be a number of things. If it was working and now isnt' my first assumption is that something changed between you and the data source (firewalls, permissions, ports, name chagnes of servers or files or other data connected items). If you don't think anything has changed, then a network trace (like Fiddler) will help you determine where things are getting stuck.
