Hello,
1. There are many more features in Power BI Service than Power BI Report Server. Are all/some of the features in PBI Service coming to PBIRS eventually?
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/report-server/compare-report-server-service
2. I've embedded a Power BI Service report on a SharePoint Server page. Is there any way around having people click Sign in each time they view a report? e.g. Single sign-on
3. Will I have the same issue as described in question 2 if we migrate reports from Power BI Service to Power BI Report Server?
4. I have a department that has used SharePoint as the platform form for web pages (text, images, links, document libraries), SSRS, Interactive Excel and PowerPivot reports for 10 years. What do you recommend I do once SharePoint and SQL Server 2016 reach EOL?
Your input is appreciated!
Solved! Go to Solution.
1. no. There are systemic differences that will prevent certain features from being ported to RS
2. Full blown Power BI Embedded, not just an iframe
3. don't know
4. SharePoint EOL? Not any time soon. For SQL Server you can update to 2022, or go to Azure SQL, or any other SQL vendor.
