Gen 1 Dataflow Announcement

As per the blog you shared, Dataflow Gen1 is now moving into a legacy state, meaning there will be no further feature investments and support will be limited.However, the blog also clarifies that existing Gen1 dataflows will continue to work for the foreseeable future, and retirement timelines have not yet been finalized. Microsoft has also stated that customers on Premium capacity will receive at least 12 months’ notice before any retirement.
The main takeaway from the announcement is that Dataflow Gen2 is the future direction, and Microsoft recommends starting to plan migration. That said, there is no immediate impact to current Gen1 workloads.
For environments like GCC, where Gen2 availability may still be evolving, this effectively means you can continue using Gen1 while monitoring updates and planning for a future transition.

The major point behind that blog is if you are using capacity based dataflow Gen1 today, to strongly consider Gen2 going forward; particularly if you are doing new work.
There is no retirement of Pro or PPU based Dataflow Gen1 being announced. That would continue to go as is till MSFT identifies a new way for that

Even in MSFT fabric, dataflow v1 is still available and not deperacted yet (just tagged as legacy)
