Hello everyone. I have an EC2 with Power BI and Gateway installed. I can access PostgreSQL on another EC2 with Power BI and create the dashboard. When I publish the gateway, I can't connect to the EC2 where PostgreSQL is located. If I have a local file like a CSV, the connection works. How do I solve this connection problem? The EC2s don't have internet access and to access the database you need a VPN.
Thanks for responding. The gateway is installed on EC2, which has access to PostgreSQL. The gateway is active and working. If I create a dashboard with a local file in CSV format, for example, the data is updated. When I create it using the IP of EC2, where PostgreSQL is located, PowerBI can connect. When I publish it, it cannot connect because it cannot find the IP. On EC2, I released ports 443, 5671, 5672, 9350, but it still does not connect through the gateway.
Hi @Anonymous
In order for this to work and to refresh the data to your semantic model successfully, you will need to install a power PI gateway on the EC2 instance where the PostgreSQL is located, or on an EC2 instance where it can then access the PostgreSQL database. The requirements are either to open up firewall ports or to allow an outbound connection on port 443 for the gateway to work successfully.
