Gateway and Desktop server name connectivity mismatch

I have connected to on-premise database through Power BI desktop, using a servername like 2.3.3.x.x.

 

I am trying to set up a gateway, but when I add data sources, the SQL server can only be reached with the numeric name 'mySQLServer' and not 2.3.3.x.x.

 

Because of this I am not able to correctly configure SQL data source in the gateway.

 

How can I resolve this?

 

Ps - is a gateway required for a manual refresh? How can I manually refresh from app.power.bi?

    Hi  Anonymous ,

    You can click Manage gateways. Go to add data source.

    In the Data Source Settings interface, find SQL Server in Data Source Type, add Server 2.3.3.x.x, enter Database, and select Authentication Method.
