Hello, we have a Power BI report which is linked to Excel files in a folder. In Power BI desktop we are able to resave the Excel files and refresh and republish. However we have not been able to set up a Gateway to have this automatically refresh every day. We are getting the error message below on the Gateway connection that the credentials

Hi @Janey
Through the error message you provided , it seems to be a credentials issue . Can you make sure that your credentials in the data source gateway configuration are the same as those on the desktop ? Can you provide your configuration information on Manage gateways (remove sensitive information) and the corresponding dataset configuration information in dataset settings?

Is the gateway set up correctly so the connection shows as valid, not in error?
I'm not a huge fan of using a Gateway for folder access. It is much easier to move the files to a SharePoint file library, so if that is an option, it will save a lot of configuration and grief.
If not, images of your gateway config would help, but keep in mind this is a public forum, and you have some corporate specific info in that screenshot.

MCSA: BI ReportingThank you for the reply. I am investigating if we can use sharepoint. Here is the error message which I am getting:
Looks like a permission issue. You will likely need to work with your SharePoint admin to look at the permissions. Power Query needs permissions to the SP site, not just the folder you want. It has to start at the top and navigate to the folder. In the web browser, you can be denied access to the entire site, but still access a folder. PQ doesn't allow that.
