Gateway Data Source Service account

Hi,  As our usage of Pbi matures, I have serveal gateway datasources where I need to replace the existing user credentails with service account credentials.  Can anyone advise on if the service account to be used needs to have it's own Pbi license. 

The servicce account is only used to connect to source for DQ and refresh purposes and the datasource itself will have names users who will set up the schedules.

    Hi NickA01 ,

     

    No, the service account don't need to have a powerbi pro license.

     

    As you said the service account just a way to communicate your data source, so no need a pbi pro license for powerbi. Pro license needs only when you need to do some thing with-in powerbi configurations
