Following Scorecard goal
Hi fellow Powerbi/Fabric community!
I am planning to use some scorecard to track some goals and generate alerts to get people on top of some KPIs that need attention. These KPIs are tracked in some powerbi reports visual cards and ive connected this data with the scorecards and set the appropiated end goals. Ive also tested the status rules which also seem to be trigering correctly and changing the status of the goal.
My issue comes with the alerts part. While being "assigned to" the goal the status changes correctly update me with a teams notification but if I remove myself from the "assigned to" box and rely solely on the "Follow goal" I do not get such notifications.
I tested with a colleague and I assigned the goal to him, followed myself the goal-> neither of us got notifications.
To make it stranger I assigned myself again to the goal, he followed it and then both got the notification in teams.
Maybe im missing something very obvious but can anyone help me understand the behavior here?

So based on the Microsoft docs, following a goal is supposed to trigger Teams notifications whenever it's updated that includes an automated status rule changing the status, or someone adding a check-in.
But since you've already tested this with multiple users and found that followers only get notified when the goal actually has an assignee, that's not lining up with what the docs say should happen.
I will start by double-checking that the Power BI app is installed in Teams and that Teams notifications are turned on for the users affected. If all that checks out and it's still not working, honestly this may be a service issue or regression at that point worth opening a ticket with Microsoft support to get it looked at properly.Docs:
