Fixed column width for WEB

Hi! Are there any ways to lock the width change of columns in WEB service?

I do not want viewers to be able to make columns wider or narrower. How can I achieve this? Thanks!

In Power BI, the ability to lock column widths in the Power BI service (web) to prevent viewers from adjusting them is not a native feature. However, there are a few strategies you can use to control the appearance and interaction with your reports to some extent:

Strategies to Control Column Width

  1. Use Table or Matrix Visuals with Precise Formatting:

    • In Power BI Desktop, you can set precise widths for columns in table or matrix visuals. These settings are respected when you publish to the Power BI service.
    • To set column width in Power BI Desktop:
      1. Select the table or matrix visual.
      2. In the "Format" pane, under "Column headers", you can adjust the column width manually.
  2. Disable Interactivity:

    • While this does not directly lock the column widths, you can reduce the interactive features for viewers. For example, you can disable sorting and other interactions to make the table appear more static.
  3. Report Tooltip Pages:

    • If you only need to show detailed information without user interaction, consider using tooltip pages. Tooltip pages allow you to show detailed data when hovering over visuals without allowing direct interaction with the table or matrix visual.
  4. Custom Visuals:

    • Consider using custom visuals that provide more control over the appearance and interactivity. Some custom table or matrix visuals may offer additional formatting options that are not available in the standard visuals.
