Fit to Width Dashboard by default

Is there a way to fit dashbaord to width by default ? Can we call this programatically ?

I've not seen this feature appear.  It is possible to make it fullscreen by default, but not fit to page.

I've found some old 2016 threads with the same desire as yours.  I don't think its a features thats been implemented.
