First refresh fails after switching Snowflake connection from Username/Password to Key Pair
- 1 month ago
No, everything is good in my Semantic Model and the connections with Snowflake. However, I found in forums that multiple people are seeing DataSource.Error: [Snowflake] arrow/ipc: could not read message body during large import refreshes with Snowflake Key Pair authentication in Power BI Service.
This appears related to the known ADBC/Arrow IPC issue documented in SNOW-3449105.
Username/Password worked previously, but Key Pair forces ADBC per Microsoft documentation. So probably this is what's happening to me too: https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Service/Snowflake-ADBC-connector-error-Error-ADBC-Snowflake-arrow-ipc/m-p/5196594
I'll raise a ticket and see how it goes.
Thanks!
Hi julsr
can you make sure that when the refresh starts you can see it being executed in your Snowflake instance. If it is not getting to a Snowflake instance then potentially it there is some authentication issue which is causing it not to refresh successfully
Hello Gilbert!
Yes, the refresh is being executed in Snowflake.
