Find on which Workspace is a Dataflow stored

A Dataflow is stored on a Workspace. I have some Dataflows that I can use when building reports. I need to access those Dataflows in order to edit them and understand where are they collecting data.

  • How can I find on which Workspace is a particular Dataflow stored so that I can access it?
  • Are the Dataflows to which I have access defined by the Workspaces I can access?

Hey @Anonymous ,

in my opinion the easiest way is in Power BI Desktop.

Go to "Get data" --> "Power Platform" --> "Power BI dataflows":

In the upcoming Navigator you can see all data flows to which you have access and in the workspace they are located in:

This should give you a good overview on your data flows.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution ✔️ and give it a thumbs up 👍

@Anonymous

  • You can make use of the lineage view to figure out where you dataflow is coming from

(OR)

  • you could just copy the Power Query from advanced editor of the dataflow. You should be able to find the Workspace Id and Dataflow ID from the M Query.
  • Once you have the Workspace ID, navigate to any workspace and replace the workspace id in the URL with the one you copied from M Query
  • And regarding the dataflow access, AFAIK, we cannot manage dataflow access at the idividual dataflow level, as you mentioned it works at the workspace level
