Filter Across Reports (using different Semantic Models) in Same App?

We are looking to break up one of our large, complex, and growing reports into several reports that rely on separate semantic models. Users want to be able to filter to their desired unit once, and when they subsequently click to a different report in the same App it will already be filtered based on their selection. (An aside, these users are not versed in the differences between a report, dashboard, page, etc).   

 

After some light research, it appears this is not a Power BI function per se. But - has anyone found a way to essentially make this happen? Basically the first filter needs to pass the selected value to a separate semantic model somehow. Tricky measures? Power Automate? Power Apps?  [Addendum - I need to do this without drill-through, so the users are only using the left nav links in the service]

    Hi paythepiper 

    To pass filter selections between Power BI reports in the same app:

    1. URL Query Strings:

      • Append the filter to report URLs using query parameters (e.g., ?filter=Table/Column eq 'Value').
      • Use DAX to generate dynamic URLs and link them in your app navigation.

    2. Power Apps:

      • Embed a Power App to let users select a filter and store it in a central source (e.g., SharePoint).
      • Reports retrieve the filter dynamically from this source.

    3. Power Automate:

      • Use a flow to store the user’s selection in a shared database.
      • Reports pull the filter value during refresh.

    For simplicity, URL query strings are often the easiest to implement.
