File couldn't be created when exporting underlying data

Hi! I got this error message when I tried to export underlying data into Excel file from some visuals on a report in a Power BI Serivce workspace. I was able to export underlying data from the same visuals a few days ago. I can't find much information about this error message. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi all,

I had the below error message too:

It turned out that there is an error in a calculated column in the pbix file. The column was totally unrelated to the visual we were trying to export data from.

Once this error was fixed, we could export data with no problem.

I hope this will help someone!

Is there any fix to this issue?  We are seeing the same problem in our organization.

When attempting to export from a table visualization on the Power BI Service, we receive the error message:

We have verified the tenant settings are already set to allow export to Excel:

Hi @cpp

Does this issue happen to one report or all reports?

Please contact your Power BI admin to check if the Export to Excel feature is disabled for you:

I have a test that disable Export to Excel in Tenant setting and select export summarized data and underlying data in report setting.

Then Export the underlying data to excel, I see this error as well.

Hi Rico,

Thank you for your reply! This issue happens to one report. I am still able to export underlying data from other reports. I reached out to our Power BI Admin and confirmed that the Export to Excel feature is enabled. Is there anything else that I can try?

Thank you for your help!
