Fabric Usage Statistics and Costs

With users signed up to Trial versions of Fabric and capacities spun up in their name, is there a way to analyse what the potential costs would be based on their usage?

How do we see cost information if a user has a Premium Workspace with Fabric components? Very unclear if they were in a Fabric Trial and moved over to a Premium Capacity and still using Fabric.

Hi @Anonymous ,

  • To analyze the potential costs of the Fabric trial users based on their usage, you can use the Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics app to monitor the compute and memory utilization of their trial capacities. The app provides detailed information on how much CPU, processing time, and memory is consumed by different Fabric items, such as lakehouses, warehouses, paginated reports, dataflows, and more. You can also see the CU % limit and CU % usage of each capacity, which indicate the capacity allowance and consumption respectively. You can compare these metrics with the pricing of the Azure SKUs, which are billed per second based on the number of vCPU and GBs of memory allocated to each instance. This way, you can estimate how much the trial users would pay if they switch to a paid Azure capacity.
  • To see the cost information of a user who has a Premium Workspace with Fabric components, you need to know which SKU type they are using for their capacity.

Hi,

Is there a formula to calculate the required fabric capacity based on CU seconds consumed in Fabric Trial Capacity showing in Fabric Capacity Metrics App.

Any links or references will be really helpful.

Thanks.
