Fabric Metrics Alerts and Autoscale

We use PBI Embedded and I have implemented Autoscale Runbooks based on the Alerts generated by PBI Embedded Capacity Metrics. This is great, works well and saves us money.

Fabric capacities have no Metrics and no Metric Alerts so we cannot autoscale Fabric capacities, is this something taht is on the RoadMap or is there a way i can get to those metrics via an API? Frustrating!

Thanks, Ian

Hello,@pallavi_r thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent!
And I would like to share some additional solutions below.
Hi,@iangeerckeiqvia . I am glad to help you.
Has your problem been solved?
If your problem hasn't been solved yet, you can take a look at my suggestions below.
Maybe you could try using Data Activator, which monitors data in Power BI reports and event streams and automatically takes appropriate action when the data reaches certain thresholds or matches other patterns, such as notifying users or launching a Power Automate workflow
Unfortunately Power BI embedded is the best option if you want to achieve the original service efficiencies, but at this time, Microsoft Fabric Capacity does not have the capacity metrics and alerting capabilities that PBI Embedded does, and therefore does not allow for auto-scaling.
The Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics app might also be an option.
Here are the relevant links, I hope you find them helpful

What is the Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics app? - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Thanks but unfortunately that is just scheduled scaling,  we need to autoscale when the usage goes above a certain level, in PBI Embedded we have a metric alert which triggers a Logic App which runs a Runbook to scale, would be nice to do the same for Fabric.

Is there an API that will let me get to the metrics?

Hi @iangeerckeiqvia

Autoscaling of MS Fabric can be achieved with Logic App, Power Automate, ARM, PowerShell.

Please check if below links help.
