Since yesterday at 1530GMT all warehouses in our workspace stopped responding. The objects are still there but any queries against those objects do not respond.
Also noticed that there is a queue of 28 sessions in a running status when viewing sys.dm_exec_sessions, these have not moved in over 24 hours. I have tried to KILL each of the sessions, the command changed from SELECT to KILLED/ROLLBACK however they do not disappear. They all have a wait status of EDC_EXEC.
All warehouses are affected by this, even newly created warehouses on that workspace will immediately fail.
Does anyone have any smart ideas on how to get things moving again?
I'm experiencing this issue as well.
Microsoft suggest me to pause and resume the capacity to check if it has solved the issue. But I have no Azure Portal rights, so now waiting on IT to follow up.
If you do, you can give it a try. https://learn.microsoft.com/sl-si/power-bi/developer/embedded/azure-pbie-pause-start
Thanks for the info!
I'm not using Power BI embedded though and I don't have any Azure subscriptions. I am an admin on my Power BI (Fabric) P1 SKU.
This morning everything works again! Although nor my IT or Microsoft Support has done anything.
For those who are interested what happened during that time:
- Created ticket with our Unified Support Contract to Microsoft. No end resolution given, only suggested to restart capacity.
- Created ticket in our company's IT to restart capacity. Not carried out, due to possible impact on other workspaces
- Our IT suggested to increase capacity, but haven't done it yet.
It seems magically solved it self after 5 days of waiting and stress.
It self-resolved for me too without creating any tickets or other interventions.
I just hope it doesn't happen again.
Same, I asked the SME if it is possible to opt-out the monthly update, or give it a delay. Like what we do with Windows. So, waiting on their answer now.
Have you got help on this? It happens to me yesterday too, waiting on support at this moment.
