Fabric Capacity Metrics - Dataset Refresh Count
Hi.
Is it possible to view the count of dataset updates?
I'm trying to use the count_operations in the MetricsByItemandOperationandDay but its not working.
Also, I'm filtering the record Dataset Schedule Refresh in the OperationName column.

The MetricsByItemAndOperationAndDay view is a daily summary, so it will always return a single row per dataset per day, with the timestamp set to 00:00:00. This is why you only see one record even if the dataset refreshes multiple times.
To view each refresh attempt (including retries) with the actual timestamp, you’ll need to use a more granular view such as MetricsByOperation or MetricsByOperationAndItem. These tables record every operation event and will allow you to count refreshes correctly.
If this does not resolve the issue, please share which metrics tables are available in your capacity.

Warning: That count is overstated as it includes all the retries and the Query Cache rows.

You can definitely track how many times a dataset has refreshed, but not by using count_operations in the MetricsByItemAndOperationAndDay view., that field doesn’t actually exist in the usage metrics schema, Instead, filter the OperationName column to DatasetScheduleRefresh and then simply count the rows (for example with COUNTROWS in DAX or COUNT(*)Did it work? 👍 A kudos would be appreciated

Thanks for the reply, but it still didn’t work.
I filtered it as you mentioned, but it’s only showing one row even though the report updates several times a day.
I don’t know why, but in the DateTime column the time is only showing 00:00:00.
So, I cant count the rows.
