Fabric CU consumption when using SSAS Live Connection via Gateway

Hi,

I just found out that I can use my OnPrem SSAS Tabular DB via an enterprise gateway in the PowerBI Workspace. We have a F128 Fabric capacity and I was curious if there are CUs consumed when being live connected in a pbix to OnPrem SSAS Tabular?

If so, how can I find out how much?

best regards

  • Yes.  How much? That depends on the performance of your SSAS Tabular.  CUs are a combination of time and (Fabric) compute so in your case it would be mostly the time component.

      Hi,

thanks for your reply. I know I was a bit unspecific. But in general, the question for me is, what fabric has to "calculate" because everything should be done on the SSAS side in my opinion.

I'm just considering what would be best in consumption, the model is like 10gb and has 150-200 users.

      thanks anyways!

        Hi lukiz84

Maybe you can consider using the Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics.

The Microsoft Fabric Capacity Metrics app is designed to provide monitoring capabilities for Microsoft Fabric capacities. Use the app to monitor your capacity consumption and make informed decisions on how to use your capacity resources. For example, the app can help identify when to scale up your capacity or when to turn on autoscale.
