Hi,
I am providing access to report using AD group.
An external user is added to AD group, but can't enter the report.
While entering link it is redirecting to main page.
While I am adding same user directly to permission to the report, not by AD group, it works good.
Do you know what is the reason?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi Aggisss,
To share the report using an AD group, ensure the following:
1. Guest Access Settings: Verify that your Azure AD guest access settings allow external users to access resources shared with security groups.
2. AD Group Configuration: Ensure the AD group is a security group, not a distribution list.
3. Power BI Settings: Check the Power BI admin portal settings to allow guest access via groups.
If these settings are correct and the issue persists, consider raising a support ticket with Microsoft for further assistance.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
User accepted the ivitation in azure.
I would like to share report not w workspace.
While sharing directly by e-mail (external) it is working.
But using azure group, which is added to the report and external user is inside this group, it is not working.
You can share only the report by clicking on the report and find 'Share' menu at the top, once you click on the share click on 'copy the link' then share the link with the external users.
Hope this works for you.
Hi,
But the point is, that I would like to share with AD group, not each user separately.
I know how to shre the report.
As I mentioned, while sharing report using AD group External user is not able to enter.
While sharing isung external user e-mail address is not working.

Hi Aggisss,
The below points may help you
1) Confirm that the external user has the necessary Power BI license
2) Ensure the external user has been added as a guest in your Azure AD and has accepted the invitation
Once the external user has accepted the invitation (He mostly get a email), Go to the Power BI workspace and add the Azure AD group name or email id of the AZURE AD as viewer then share the Power BI workspace link with them.
Hope that works!!
