Hi! I'm very confused here. I need to share a semantic model with external users. After reviewing documentation, I think I'm seeing conflicting information...
This article clearly says that those users would be able to view, build on, and share the data both within and beyond their own Fabric tenants. This ability to reshare data is a definite dealbreaker (if true).
This article shows that we could share a dataset and remove ability to modify/share the dataset. Which is exactly what we want, but this conflicts with what the article above says.
Which of these articles are true (if either)? What is the best way to share a dataset without external users being able to reshare?
Thank you! 🙂

Hi! The first link you have is referencing lakehouses and KQL data warehouse (External data sharing in Microsoft Fabric - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn). The second one is for Power BI semantic models and you can absolutely grant build access without allowing them to reshare access to teh dataset.

Hi @audreygerred 🙂
That's what I was thinking (because one of the links on the first article went to another page that specifically mentioned lake houses and KQL databases). But I wasn't sure and could be fired if this data went any further than the individuals I want to share with.
Thank you!
