Export pdf from powerbi to sharepoint via powerautomate

I need help to export files in pdf format from power bi to sharepoint via power automate.

I’ve created an automated flow that runs successfully, but it doesn’t apply filters based on a single column. My goal is to filter the report for each business individually, as if using the Power BI filter pane. I want to be able to export automatically business by business automatically using the filter pane.

Thanks

Hi @hodeuria,

I'm not sure if you're using the step 'Run a query against a dataset'. If you are, you need to apply a filter in your test query, as shown in the image below.

Hi @hodeuria

Another thing you could try is using the HTTP connector and using the power bi export API.

Reports - Export To File - REST API (Power BI Power BI REST APIs) | Microsoft Learn

you can then build a filter string to filter the report:
Filter a report using query string parameters in the URL - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

Hi, thank you for this. This has actually helped with the dynamic filtering!

Hii @hodeuria

Follow the below steps to get your result :

  1. Get the list of all business names (from Excel, SharePoint, SQL, etc.).
  2. Use Apply to Each so the flow runs once per business.
  3. Inside the loop, pass the filter as JSON into the Export to File for Power BI Reports action.
Example filter JSON
[
  {
    "table": "BusinessTable",
    "column": "BusinessName",
    "operator": "In",
    "values": ["Business A"]
  }
]

Each loop run replaces "Business A" with the next business, and Power BI returns a correctly filtered PDF.
