Export data using UnderlyingData option

Hi,

We have a Power BI report developed using SSAS live query. When we try to export data to excel using "Underlying Data" option from Power BI service we are getting filesize < 2.5 MB only. But the actual data is more than 2.5 MB.

Is there any way to specify or configure download file size in Power BI service?

Thanks.

In the limitation page we saw below statement.

"Export using Underlying data will not work if the data source is an Analysis Services live connection and the version is older than 2016 and the tables in the model do not have a unique key."

We are using Aug 2018 version so thought we can able to download 16 MB or 150,000 rows which was mentioned in the same link.

Can you please confirm us on the export row count in latest version when using SSAS Live query.

In our live query we are using 7 dimensions and 6 measures.

Thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please be aware of the limitations to exporting underlying data from service.

  • The maximum number of rows that can be exported to .xlsx is 150,000.
  • Export using Underlying data will not work if the data source is an Analysis Services live connection.

I'm afraid this is not supported now.
