Hi Power BI Experts. I have a problem where we may need a workaround. If I have a power BI Dashboard that has about 30 different pages and each page can be exported as a slide in a powerpoint presentation, is there a way where the use can choose the pages they want in the presentation for export?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Use Power Automate. There you can specify the individual pages that should be included in the export.
Hi @ribisht,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Fabric Community Forum.
Also, thanks to @lbendlin , @MasonMA for those inputs on this thread.
In Power BI, there is no direct option to select and export only a few pages from a report into PowerPoint. You can either export the full report or just the current page one at a time.
here are some workarounds you can try:
Manual Way you can do go to each page you want → export it as PowerPoint current page only → then later combine all those slides into one PowerPoint file.
Power BI Add-in for PowerPoint If it’s allowed in your company, you can use this add-in to show live report pages inside PowerPoint. That way, users can interact with visuals in presentation itself.
Power Automate for advanced users If you are using Power BI Pro or Premium, you can set up a Power Automate flow where you can choose which pages to export automatically. It needs some setup though.

We have a report with 30 pages, but we only need to export 20. Is it possible to selectively export pages, and how does that affect performance? do we have any limit with Power BI Automate
You can do that with Power Automate. Keep in mind that every single selected page is re-rendered every single time. You need to make sure that the rendering does not time out (which would result in some pages being blank randomly). Spend time and effort optimizing the report visuals before attempting this.
Hi @ribisht,
Thanks for Followup,
Right now, Power BI doesn’t have a direct option to export selected pages to PowerPoint it either exports all report pages or just the current one.
But there’s a good workaround using Power Automate. With that, you can choose exactly which pages like your 20 out of 30 you want to export. You just need to use the “Export to File for Power BI Reports” action in Power Automate.
A few things you may try:
This works only if your report is published to Power BI Service not in Desktop.
You will need Power BI Premium either per user or workspace.
There’s a limit you can export up to 50 pages per report using this method.
About performance exporting 20 pages should work fine unless your visuals are too heavy. It may take a few extra seconds.
Hope this helps if you have any queries we are happy to assist you further.
Thank you.

@ribisht Hey,
Power BI does not natively support selective page exporting to PowerPoint presentations directly from the dashboard interface. However, you can implement a workaround to achieve this functionality using the following steps

HI @ribisht
Power BI’s built-in Export to PowerPoint feature does not support selective page-level exports directly. When you export, all visible report pages are exported as static images and you can choose to export the current page only, but not a custom selection of multiple pages.
