Execute PQ in PBI Service using Standard Gateway without executing it previously in PBI Desktop

Ciao Friends,

the title says it all but to be more specific.

I have big queries and I really do not want to import data to my local machine. Instead I want to:

1. Create a query in Desktop (w/o executing).

2. Upload the PBIX to PBI Service.

3. Connect to Gateway.

4. Execute the query overthere.

Is there any way to achive that? Thanks as always! Kamil

Use parameters to limit the amount of data you pull in the PBIX, and to remove that limit during service refresh.  Very similar to the Incremental Refresh mechanics.

Thanks @lbendlin, actually this is what I have figured out by myselft. The problem is this way you're left with TOP clause in SQL Statment which affects performance of query.
