Excel on Sharepoint as DataSource - with Row Level Security *and* scheduled refresh - possible???
Hi all,
I'm new to Power BI and I apologise if this is a noddy question...
I've worked out how to apply Row Level Security when using Power BI desktop to create a report and then publish to Power BI Service.
I've separately worked out how to create a dataset from PowerBI service which uses an Excel workbook on a sharepoint site as it's datasource and have that automatically refresh.
The problem is that I can't work out how to "Get Data" from Power BI desktop and then have that refresh automatically in Power BI service. And likewise I can't work out how to apply RLS to a dataset created from PowerBI service (it pops up an error stating that I need to do this from Desktop).
Can anyone help????

For RLS problem, RLS needs to be created in power bi desktop
