Hi all,
I built a customer connector to access the Vimeo API through OAuth2. The connector works locally on PowerBI Desktop, and is also works on a Personal Gateway. Unfortunately, when I try and deploy it on my company's Enterprise Gateway, I get the following error:
Extension{"extensionDataSourceKind":"_VimeoConnector","extensionDataSourcePath":"https://api.vimeo.com/users/{our-user-id}/videos
Even more curious is the fact that the Vimeo connector is online and working within the gateway:
I have seen the Extension{"extensionDataSourceKind" error mentioned on this forum, but have not seen a clear answer as to why it occurs. I would greatly appreciate any help from the community on what steps I should take next.
Many thanks!
What I meant is you must log into the Gateway Server where you have got the Gateway service installed.
Then open Power BI Desktop and see if you can refresh your PBIX whilst logged into the Gateway server?
This will allow you to see if there is a connection issue on the Gateway.
Can you confirm that you have put the Custom Connector in the folder in the Gateway server?
Use custom data connectors with the on-premises data gateway - Power BI | Microsoft Docs
Also can you confirm that the gateway server can also access the API?
Hi GilbertQ,
Thanks so much for your help! Yes, the connector has been placed in the enterprise gateway connectors folding. We've also checked the box that allows the refresh of these custom connectors.
Could you please tell me a bit more about what you mean by seeing if the "gateway server can also access the API"?
Thanks!
