Hello,
I created a dataflow to get data from Sahrepoint folders with many xlsm files.
In order for the xlsm files to work, I had to create a 'template' xlsx file to use as example for the transformation function. It works in the query preview.
However, when I try to update the dataflow, I get this error :
Error: DataSource.NotFound: Excel Workbook: The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. The 64-bit version of the Access Database Engine OLEDB provider may be required to read this type of file. To download the client software visit the following site: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=285987. Everything was fully created online, I didn't use PBI Desktop at all.
Any idea what to do ?
Many thanks
Hi @iToune ,
This is legacy file type,
Will it be possible to save the file as xlsx, if yes then you are good
If Not, you have to use Power BI Gateway and on Gateway server install Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0 Provider.

If it does not help, please provide more details.

Thanks you for the answer. I'm not sure I get the 'legacy file' part. Is the xlsm no longer supported by microsoft? Why does it work on Power BI Desktop?
Hi @iToune ,
The above SharePoint folder approach only works for XLSX files. The Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service both support both Excel file formats (XLS and XLSX). However, refresh does not. If the source file format is XLS, and a refresh is attempted, you will receive the classic “microsoft.ace.oledb.12.0 provider” error in the Power BI service.

OK thanks I will look into these.
But my file are XLSM, not XLS (which I understand is an old format).
