Error when editing, adding to or creating new dataflows

Hi all

I've had a number of Gen1 dataflows working for months and they all still do work and refresh but I'm unable to add any new tables, I can't duplicate the ones I have or get to the SQL via source. Also tried creating new dataflows but I get the error. The first error is when I try to add a new table (or edit the source of an existing) then second is the message when I tried creating a new Gen2 dataflow. Any ideas on the issue??

Thanks for the responses. After two weeks the error has just spotted - unfortunatly we're not aware what has changed but now able to edit and add to dataflows as previously

Hello @CarrieG, thanks for posting to the community!

This error can be thrown when there are caching issues and/or an outdated browser.  Here are some ideas you can try to resolve it:

  • Clear your browser cache/temporary files/cookies.  Then restart the browser and try again.
  • Retry in an inprivate session/incognito mode or another browser.
  • If others in your org are having this issue also then ensure your network or firewall isn’t blocking access to powerquery.microsoft.com.

Thanks for responding! I had cleared cache, tried other browsers and have tried incognito - all produce the same error. Was just waiting on my IT Dept to confirm but it doesn't appear to be a firewall issue either. This error is effecting everyone in my org who tries to edit/add to the dataflow.

Hi @CarrieG ,
Please consider reaching out to Microsoft Support. They might be able to identify something specific about your admin account setup or provide a solution that isn't immediately obvious.
